Farmer’s Market

If you’re looking for a fresh, local produce market near Nashville, look no further than Franklin, Tenn. The city’s Farmer’s Market is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m during the months of May to November. You’ll find local goods like locally-produced cheeses, honey, and soaps at the Farmers Market, located at 230 Franklin Road, at the corner of Liberty Pike, next to the historic Factory in Franklin.

Music Venues

Franklin, Tennessee is a small town with a free-wheeling artistic soul and a boutique-packed Main Street. Though it is just 30 minutes south of Music City, Franklin’s live music scene is far from rock star territory. The ambiance is laid-back and acoustic, and big-name acts rarely bat an eye when they walk down Main Street. There are even several homes of Justin Timberlake, Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, and even Brad Paisley in Franklin, and the city’s historic buildings make for a great night out.

Historic Buildings

You can tour historic buildings in Franklin, Tennessee. If you like history, you may want to check out the Masonic Hall, constructed in 1823, it is the oldest public building in Franklin. The building has served the Franklin community for decades and is a great place to learn about its history. The Lotz House Museum was built by German immigrant Johann Albert Lotz. He was an accomplished carpenter and piano maker, and he converted his home into a showroom to showcase his creations.

Franklin is home to four National Register Historic Districts and seven local historic districts, which make up the city’s Historic Preservation Overlay (HPO). The HPO is a zoning district that includes important properties. Some of the buildings in Franklin are even eligible for the National Register. When it comes to quality of life, Franklin is one of the safest cities in Tennessee. The area is well known for its excellent schools and family-friendly atmosphere. A recent survey of its residents revealed that safety is a high priority for Franklin residents. More than 90% of those surveyed thought Franklin has an excellent quality of life.

When asked whether they would recommend the city to a friend or relative, 9 out of 10 residents said they would. Many residents of Franklin also said that they felt safe walking around the city, including downtown, commercial Franklin, and neighborhoods. Similarly, nine out of ten residents said they would rate Franklin’s police and fire departments as “good” or “excellent.” However, it is important to note that the majority of residents haven’t experienced a crime or been a victim of crime in Franklin.
